Local cows was held this week. Allen Dairy Holstein Holstein breeders from across the state of Pa. paraded 329 top Registered Holsteins before judge Henry “Sonny” Bartel, Lakehurst Farms, Inc. Sheboygan, Wis. in the 19th Annual Pa State Holstein Show last Saturday. For this show of the best cattle in the state breeders brought in their winners from a series of 20 district Holstein shows held across the state during the summer. Grand Champion Female honors went to Wind-Drift Countess Nora, an Aged Holstein cow owned by Allen Dairy Farms, Inc , Mechamcsburg, Pa. Reserve Grand Champion of the show was Md-Maple-Lawn Marquis Glamor, also owned by Allen Dairy Farms. Junior Champion Holstein, the award given to the best animal not yet of milking age was Royal-Haven Maple Belle, owned by Lynn & Bonnie Miller, Towanda, Pa The Reserve Junior Champion was Glen-Moore Astronaut Paula, owned by Susan Weaver, Glen more, Pa Grand Champion Bull was Singing Superfine owned by Smgmg Brook Farms, Imler, Pa. Reserve Champion Bull was Mapoval Happy Tiger, owned by Roses Dan-Dee Farms, Spar tansburg, Pa. The coveted Premier Breeder banner, given to the breeder whose entries bred by him made the best overall showing was won by Bryncoed Farms, Chester Springs, Pa. The premier Exhibitor banner, counterpart of the Premier Breeder award, but including all entries of an exhibitor regardless of whether or not they were breed by him was won by Allen Dairy Farms, Inc., of Mechanicsburg, Pa.
