The children want to sled and the adults want to ski. I don’t seem, to fit into these groups as just a tiny bit of snow satisfies me. This month after returning our son to Penn State we decided to take a different way home. The woods were covered with a light snow as we followed the east shore of the Susquehanna River instead of the west. At Millersburg we discovered that ferryboats still cross the river carrying cars and passengers. The river is one mile wide at this point and three or lour feet deep. The cost for car and passengers is $1.50. You need not go far from home to enjoy a beautiful drive through woodlands. I find Route 322 in northern Lancaster County to be very enjoyable any season of the year If you are alert, you might even see deer in the area of Cornwall Furnace.' Mentioning this area brings to mind an embarrassing episode which happened to Allen and me quite a few years ago.
