Farm Women (Continued from Page 21) Society 10 Farm Women Society, 10 met recently in the Refton Fire Hall with Miss Ida Kunkle, Mrs. Jennie Shoemaker and Mrs. Charles Sherts serving as hostesses. Miss Kunkle was in charge of and Mrs. Jacob Evans, president, was in charge of the business meeting. The program featured Miss Karen Carl, Ronks, a student at Conestoga Valley, with a musical presentation at the piano. A donation of $2O was approved for the United Fund. A gift of $l5 was sent to the Extension service for the youth nutritional program, and a $lO gift was given to the Hans Herr Association in memory of a deceased member. Mrs. Evans asked that members invite friends to attend the evening with Nan Wiley so that the society may go on record as gpning the allotted number of tickets. The program planned for 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 1 is open to the public. The next meeting will be held Oct. 2 at the home of Mrs. John Esbenshade, Eden. Society 13 Farm Women Society 13 met recently at the home of Mrs. Ervin Brown, 2116 New Holland Pike. Devotions were led by Mrs. Brown. Roll call was answered by giving a household safety tip. Prior to the business meeting the group sewed cancer pads. The Society has completed 382 pieces of sewing for the Cancer Society during the 1970-71 seasons. The Society will hold a 40th Anniversary banquet at the Alnron Restaurant November 9. The next regularly scheduled meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Robert Bomberger, 217 Hillcrest Rd., New Holland , November 12. Society 22 Society of Farm Women 22 met in the home of Mrs. Clarence Rohrer, Smoketown, with Mrs. John Harnish as co-hostess. The program featured Edward J. Holland from the Pennsylvania State Police, who spoke on the ‘Prevention of Clime Against Women.’ During the business meeting, Mrs. Lloyd Herr, president,- reminded the group that tickets for the ‘Evening With Nan Wiley’ on Oct. 1 at the Centerville Junior High School are still available. Announcement was made that the County Convention will be held at the Farm and Home Center on Nov. 6. The guest speaker will be Miss Marie J. Gite, Chambersburg.
