Every day in the year, orange and lemon trees work to give us these golden foods. Years ago, When people ate few fresh fruits and vegetables, scur vy was a common disease. Today we know that the scurvy-prevent ing factor in citrus fruits is vita min C. Our bodies do not store this vitamin. We should eat foods every day that provide it. Oranges ilemons and the grapefruit are such foods. They furnish vitamin C in many, appetizing forms and are available the year round. First let us show you some ways in which you can use fresh oranges, orange juice and the rind of the orange daily. ORANGE SALADS Orange salads offer a fresh food in which the vitamin C. has not been de stroyed by cooking. Use a vari ety lettuce, romaine, curly en dive, watercress, mint, chard, cabbage, and raw young mustard, beet and spinach leaves.
