Numerous other events in the area caused the audience to be smaller than anticipated, but those present received benefit of one of the best programs that the group, directed by Donald L, Trostle, has presented. Featured in the first section, Through a Church Window, was Pickering Reynolds, Quarryville, as in “Deep River;” Elizabeth Trostle, Lancaster, in the descant to “Peace I Leave With You;” and the solo, Bach’s “Ave Maria ” Fern palms flanked the top rear portion of the stage, a church window was illuminated from the rear at left stage, and candelabra at each side, front stage, added to the impression. In the second section, Garden of Song, the green carpeting palms, and hexagonal bamboo baskets suspended from the celling at different levels on each side of the chorus, offered a most pleasing setting Mr. Reynolds was featured in a baritone solo, Geehl’s “For You Alone,” and responded with “Young and Foolish” from “Plain and Fancy” as an encore.
