Dr. Spencer John Olham (Gary Sinise) is a brilliant scientist in charge of creating a powerful bomb to rid the earth of its alien invaders, the Centauri, with whom we have been at war for decades. But, he has been accused of being a wy Pain Alabama to pursue a more exciting life in the fast lane. Now, it seems like all her dreams have come true. She is a successful fashion designer in the Big Apple and is engaged to the son of a rich politician. But, she still has unfinished business back home in small town Pigeon Creek, Alabama. Her husband refuses to divorce her, so she must go back to take care of it. Once there, she finds that money and fame aren't everything and that maybe what she was looking for was what she left behind. Overall, I had very few complaints about this movie. Reese Witherspoon gives one of her best performances as Melanie Carmichael in the movie. Handsome, piercing blue- eyed Josh Lucas, who plays Melanie's hayseed husband, should have more leading man IT'S IN THE STARS Virgo: Being a follower isn't always easy. Now, Dr. Olham must become a fugitive from the law. "This movie is riveting with its many plot twists and turns and its Twilight Zone-like ending. The acting and directing are exceptional. There are eye-popping CGI special effects. The cinematography draws the audience in and makes them empathize with Spencer Olham through its many subjective shots (filming lingo: a view of the action through the eyes of a specific character).
