My time with WHYY was very valuable. Being thrust into the newsroom, I learned directly from hands-on experience, rather than a textbook. I faced all the situations and demands of the work environ- ment. It was a great preparation for a future career in journalism I was amazed by the amount of time and effort involved in pro- ducing a news program. The WHYY staff of thirty works all day to pro- duce a half-hour of airtime. Just imagine the crew size for CNN, the . round-the-clock news network!
