At Penn State Delco, our “Committee on Cultural Affairs” has organized a United Nation’s Day. This event, to be just one of a few, is provided to enhance the diversity of our campus community. On October 23, Tuesday, the festivities will begin during the com- mon hour, 11:30-1:00, in the lounge. T-shirts will be sold throughout the week or until they are gone. This does not mean, however, that you should.not attend the United Nation’s Day. Par- ticipation is crucial and will benefit our purpose to recognize diversity on cam- pus. The focus here is for Penn State as a whole to become aware of the diversity we are exposed to and take advantage of learning from this. From University Park, commonwealth campuses, such as ourselves, are handed strategies as “university tasks,” through which we try to spread knowledge and make peo- ple aware of the diversity in our world and more specifically, our campus. To make this event as effective as possible, students, faculty and staff alike should attend and see for themselves what it is that Penn State University is so con- cerned about. : What have you got to lose? See you there. Art student Greg Branche displays his Nittany Lion peace logo chosen for the United Nations t-shirt to be on sale next week.
