At the Movies "Elvira Madigan" Reviewed by Kathy Guth running through the fields, walks in the woods, picnics and emotional gazes are, on the surface the essence of Hollywood love. The key phrase is "on the surface". Previous to "Elvira Madigan" only a sur face presentation of love has been shown in the movies. Now we have love shown to the viewer in all of its splender. Only by excellent photograhy, and characterization has this been made possible. Every scene was matched perfectly with the mood. The dialogge was unobstrusive with every word packed with meaning. But much of the meaning, the real meat of the movie; was left to individual interpretation. This is the simple beauty of Elvira Madigan. This was a challenge to the viewer....a challenge felt even after leaving the theater. If you enjoy seeing life, and love presented in a fresh, sim- ple manner, if you enjoy a men- tal challenge - go see "Elvira Madigan." You will not be dis- pointed. "Sol Madrid n Reviewed by H.C.
