Among women, 76% felt it im portant to help others in diffi culty, 71% to become an authority in their field, 69% to develop a philosophy of life, 54% to raise a family, 54% toobtain recog nition from colleagues and 43% to be well-off financial ly. Men and women agreed that "parents should be dis couraged from having large families" with the actual break down being 64% of the males and 49% of the females. The agreeing breakdown of students expecting to have no children was 13% men and 9% wo men. The largest group of stu dents, 50% of both men and wo men expect to have two children with 24% of the women and 18% of the men expecting to have three children and 9% of the men and 6% of the women expecting four children. 4% of the men and women expect to have an one child. Compared to 18% of the wo men, 38% of the men surveyed agreed that "the activities of married women are best confined to the home and family." How ever, outside of the home 89% of the men and 96% of the wo men agreed that "women should recieve the same salary and op portunities for advancement as men in comparable positions." The survey reveled that 81% of the men and women at Highacres cited being able to get a better job as a reason to go to college, with 57% including being able to make more money as another reason "I still say five minutes isn't enough time to get from one class to another."
