HIGHACKES CfILLEGIAN ■THE CHORUS COMES THRU AGAIN by John Maggio 'he College Community Chorus irection of Miss Pearl Garbrick, made a ery go<sd showing at the first concert f its tenth season. The program, which sonegmed Christmas, covered a great :eal of musical territory. Work by Bach, •epresenting the Baroque school of music, ras nicely balanced by a contempory iomposition, Alleluia by Rondall Thompson, ;he classical period of music was very BAMBOOCKETE rell represented by Hayden’s ”Toyb-Symphony.” ’his symphony was one of the highlights of Aie program. Being a musical joke, it was scored only for strings and toy instrum ents. Mrs. Charlotte Phillips and Miss larbriok played excellently in the violin section and were well supported in the lass by Mr. Ward at the cello. The major rork of the evening was the' 1 Christmas Dratorio" by Saint - Saens* Particularly Interesting in this work was the duet by irs.’ Bigelow and Mr. Leroy Hinkle. The orogram was closed by two brilliant ihoruses from Handel’s ’’Messiah.” According bo tradition, the entire audience stood luring the Hallelujah Chorus; The accompaniment', although a bit rough in places, was generally well drone. A bright spot in the accompaniment was "For Unto Us A Child Is BorftttJroi the'"-Messiah" played.ln an excellent manner by Mias Kathy Barthalmus. The evening was closed very pleasantly with refreshments served by the Theta Sigma Pi Sorority. I offer my sincere congratulations to Miss Garbrick for excellent performance* NEOLOGISMS Adding to the national vocabulary c.rtir’ to be a popular pastime, ">es it that a new word’s chances of ,■ t 4 the next edition of the diet best, slim* Here is a fresh t creations* SNIRT GENERALIST YOO-100 COLDHOUSE TOOTH-DOODLING SANITARIAN FAIRAEMAMENT CAPNOTIC December 13 p 1957 'A aijrt.dro f dirt v:i ■ air by winter & Concrete that h reinforced with A jack of all trades 3 a man who can do business in many fields# Any ailment which defies diagnosis b;y a doctoro A building equipped - r ’itb refrigeration and illu-.i nation similar to condi tions existent in the Arctic in which flor - ' if: grown# The harmful practice of chronically grinding an tongueing the teeth# Alertness quotient - based on tests of a parson 1 s adapt at il ~t’ judgment and r powers A bus boy.
