How do you feel about the Tarn helm’s Allison O’Connor Psychology (Women’s Studies minor) I feel that the Tamhelm ad cam paign has used inappropriate images to promote our campus’ literary magazine. Some students unfamiliar with Tamhelm have remarked that they thought it was about sex...go figure. Marvin Colbertson Accounting It’s expressing creativity. That’s what the Tamhelm is all about. Patricia Taylor Accounting It’s all an individual interpreta tion. Each person can get their own own meaning out of it. Personally, I’m going to stop and look at it; that’s the idea of a suc cessful ad. I feel that by taking it down it would be censorship. Jim Johnson Secondary Education English I have no problem with the posters. Very cool. Kinda sexy. Fear no art. Interviews and photos by Nicole Burkholder, Brad Clements and Daniel McClure submission posters? Ed Bradley Master in Business Administration The Tamhelm poster caught my eye while walking down a stair way. I saw it on the wall and it stooci out amongst the other fly ers posted. The picture prompted me to read the poster’s contents. I was grateful that it caught my attention for I may submit. Matthew J. Farkas I’m not offended by it at all. In fact, I’m kind of turned on by it. STUDENT SPEAK OUT Jaimi Gibson Marketing I don’t find anything wrong with them. They did their purpose and got people’s attention. The posters are done in good taste and are humorous. Jen Martin Elementary Education The pictures are a bit disturbing. I think there are better ways to advertise a literary journal. Jennifer Ditzler Public Policy Truly revolting. First, using sex to “sell” the idea of submissions, and secondly the theme of a “bondage” submission is gross, and has vety little to do with the writing/artistic process in my opinidh. Also, the posters feature only women in a sexually explic it manner. It makes me wonder if the editors are supportive of the denigration of all women. Bryan O’Neill Psychology Freedom of expression is essen tial in a democratic society. Art should not know any limits if its message is to uncover the truths of society.
