Constitutional Violations A) A charge of unconstitutionality must go in writing to the Chief Justice with twenty-five student signatures. B) No member of the Student Court may submit a charge of unconstitutionality. C) The Court must meet within two school days to decide if the matter presented before them is valid. D) If the Court decides that the charge is valid the Chief Justice must then submit in writing to the President the problem and possible resolutions. E) The President is expected to enforce the decision of the Student Court within a reasonable amount of time. F) In extreme cases, and when there is no attempted resolution to the problem that the Student Court presented, the Executive and/or Senate offices can be shut down for three school days beginning the day the decision is reached by the court. G) After the three school days the Executive Board and Senate will resume operations. H) By the third school day the court must send their decision in writing to the Vice President as to a course of action and the Vice President is expected to enact the decision. Chief Justice A) The Chief Justice shall preside as the chair during all hearings of the court, act as tie breaker during hearings, and properly distribute all decisions. B) Shall preside over the impeachment proceedings of an SGA Executive Board or Senate member. C) Shall act in official oversight capacities for SGA elections. D) Shall fulfill all duties of an Associate Justice as well as the Chief Justice’s duties. E) Shall call meetings of the Student Court when their services are required. F) In an emergency situation call a meeting of the Student Court with twenty-four hours notice. Associate Justices A) Shall participate in all sessions of the Student Court, unless excused by the Chief Justice. B) May serve on various boards or committees under the faculty Senate or the College.
