Friday,August 30, 1985 Page 8 I The Crue, Scorpions - Metal madness Crue The sultan purveyors of unadulterated, headbanging, free expression music have once again fulfilled their expecta tions with yet another album designed to satisfy even the most dedicated metal head. Who else could fit this descrip tion but the Heavy Metal maniacs themselves, Motley Crue. The Crue's latest album, "Theatre Of Pain" (Elektra) combines hard-hitting metal with meaningful lyrics such as those found in "Home Sweet Home" and "Fight For Your Rights." The loud, earth shattering sound that made the Crue famous is clearly ex emplified with "Louder Than Hell," "Use It Or Lose It" and "Keep Your Eye On The Money." Mid-town Plaza 450 E. The Crue sounded in top form when they rocked the Allentown Fairgrounds with three encores drawing out the old Elvis song, "Jailhouse Rock" (to be releas ed on their next album, possibly live). The "Theatre Of Pain" album will certainly shake ones soul on the record player, but a live performance of these die hard metal maniacs is guaranteed to shatter your thoughts of any civilization in the life of Motley Crue. "World Wide Live"( Mercury) a double-live Lp was recorded on the Scor pions last tour "Love at First Sting" which lasted over a year. It was the most successful tour yet for the native German band. Not, only did the Scor pions get a larger American au dience but the "Love at First Sting" Lp was the commercial success they had been waiting for ever since "Lovedrive" came out a few years ago. "World Wide Live" gives you a very good idea of what it's like to be at a wild, raucous IZZA Call for d elivery 944..2195 .75 for pica .20 for subs SMALL ;MEDIUM LARGE SICILIAN 5.25 5.75 9.00 5.75 6.75 10.00 6.25 7.00 10.50 6.25 7.00 10.50 6.25 7.00 10.50 6.25 7.00 10.50 6.25 7.00 10.50 6.25 7.00 10.50 6.25 7.00 10.50 6.25 6.25 7.00 .50 6.25 7.00 1 :50 7.25 8.25 11.50 9.25 10.75 14.25 1.00 1.25 1.50 SALADS Regular 1.99 Chef 2.35 Scorpions concert. But what real ly matters is that the high energy performances that the Scorpions turn out night after night is captured on vinyl. Songs like "Big City Nights"which is a truly awesome live perfor mance,"Another Piece of Meat," "Make It Real," and "Can't Live Without You" showcase the Scorpions set on "World Wide Live." The musicianship and sound quality of "World Wide Live" is excellent. It is one of the best live Lp's to come out in a long time because there is not only a couple of better than average live performances on "World Wide Live" but there is two Lp's worth of terrific music from one of the premiere rock n' roll bands around today.
