Members of the organization chair each of the commit tees within the conference and gain large educational and social benefits. Before holding the Capitol Campus Model U.N., members of the organiza tion participate in model U.N.'s on the college level. Next month at the Univer sity of Pennsylvania a delegation of five is being sent to a conference. In devel oping the best delegation, I.A.A. is seeking Capitol Campus' finest scholars on foreign policy. First a new sign in front of the campus, and now your very own gossip column. I have tried hard to be as trashy as the Enquirer, but without the lawsuits, so there will be no names and no cruel rumors. Fun is the main objective here. Let's start with the dorm beat. Wrisberg seems to be the natural start ing place. Third floor should be congrat ulated for winning the first annual "Autumn Buzz" volleyball tournament. They call themselves the zoo—reports are that is what the floor is. . . need I say more? Second floor Wrisberg seem to be lady killers. It must be all those soccer players up there. Soccer players don't get to use their hands very much in games, so they use them a lot when they're not playing—soccer, that is. There's not much activity on first floor. The girls are getting used to living with a lot of guys, and the guys are slowly getting used to the girls. I guess Wrisberg isn't the place to be on a long winter evening. Church Hall seems a little more lively. It seems as if first floor has started its own army. C.C. Commandos? Yeah, I thought it was a joke too, but they really are serious. "Fighting off boredom" is their motto. But wait, it gets worse. Third floor Church decided to go to war with first floor. Last Wednesday evening there was an all-out battle. Each floor had a flag and an army. They hid the flag and then tried to find the other team. The first team to get the other's flag was the winner. First floor pulled a fast one, though, and it was a mis-war. They hung a decoy flag out of bounds. The rules said no decoys, but first floor maintains that since it was out _of bounds they didn't cheat. I guess that's one way to look at it. The next time they play, however, no one will pull any tricks. They are playing for a keg of beer. That game should really separate the men from the boys.. . the boys will be playing. • There is a floor in Church Hall that has retained some dignity-second floor. These girls come up with flying colors in this reporter's book. They party hearty, but they are discreet. Secrets abound, but more about them next issue. By the way, how many girls on one end of the hall know three Is from the other end? r:J) kJ I Dfit:Kni iiiii :1 El kJ 15:1 The Campus Relations Office will be the Weather Day Center. USPP stands for Unkappy Students' Pity Party. It will strive to bring together all of us who are feeling the strain of heavy, almost ridiculous work loads. pop quizzes, mul tiple term papers, and killer tests. A field trip to Guyanna is planned, and refreshments will be served. All interested students please cut this article out of the paper and leave it in the SGA's outer office area. Capitol Collage Meade Heights has been a little more exciting, but then "The Heights" always is. Parties, Parties, Parties. Tuesday October 13 was a big night. It seems that there was a party where a lot of beer was consumed (nothing unusual, right?). If you think back, it was kind of nippy that evening, so someone decided to start a fire. By the end of the evening the guys had burned all of their furniture— their couch and chairs, plus a couch from someone else's house. How would you like to come home to find your couch in someone else's fire? There was a fight later in the evening, two guys came crashing out of the front window. One of them was the host. Get the general mood of the party? Oktoberfest weekend was a real blowout there, too, with at least three major parties a night. Saturday evening the big success was on Kirtland Avenue. This reporter heard that a lot of beer was left, however. Maybe they were doing other things at that party? That fire outside was really warm. Of course JR had a party. All the "right" people were there drinking out of beer mugs instead of common plastic cups. Now you know how to tell a good party from a great party. (Hint: JR's are the good parties.) Believe it or not, there was a good party in the dorms on the 20th. First floor Church had a wine and cheese party. No jeans or sneakers that evening, and boy did everyone look great! John Buzzy, as RA on that floor, set the pace and looked foxy as usual, with the extra zing of a white hat! Some first floor guys know how to treat women well. Moving up to the Main Building, a silver star goes to Dr. Mahar for donating a piano to the Student Center. If you want to use it, see an RA for the key. Wouldn't it be nice if you wouldn't have to lock things up around here? There is also a little news in the campus radio station. It seems that Mark and Krazy K are definitely "cruisinn There is also a late Wednesday after noon doubleheader that has something going-she comes on at 4, and he's on at 6. My question is what goes on at 8? Isn't radio exciting? The golden lion award goes to M.H.8.0.G. and RSC for an excellent weekend. A lot of students took time from their weekend to serve us. They made a real "Buzz." Take some time this weekend to appreciate student services either through a ghoul gram or just by dressing up and going out to the Bizarre Bazaar. I guarantee you'll like it. Well, until next time remember the prophetic words of George Thourogood from "One whisky one scotch and one beer, you ain't really high 'till your mouth is dry." Have a good one!
