Page 6 What's Happening In Recreation And Athletics Lions 58A2 by Nell Landes The Capitol Campus basketball team picked up its fifth victory of the season Thursday night with a 78-54 victory over Lancaster Bible College. The Lions controlled the tempo of the game. Junior, Kris Elish controlled the offensive and defensive boards for the Lions. Capitol was stealing the ball and fast biteakinia at wlll. The Lions led by as many as 30 points mid-way through the second half. The score at half was 39-24. Coach Jim Baker sudstituted freely with everyone getting a chance to play. Scoring honors for the Lions went to Kris Elish who netted 20 points. Oh Monday night the Lions were handed their second loss of the season at the hands of California State of Pennsylvania by the score of 98-68. Reader Bowling The Capitol Campus bowling team was defeated Sunday by Shippensburg State College. The score was 19-7. Me Knill led the Lions with a 785 series for four games. Me won four points for the Lions by rolling a 211. Last Sunday the team lost a close one to the University of My land 14-12, Bob Braun led the team. Last Sunday, against Mntgomery College, the team won with a 185 average. Four out of five bowlers rolled 200's. I.M. Second semester brought the return of intramural bowling back to Capitol Campus. The teams to look out for this semester are T. K. D. , the Outsiders, and the Pink Panthers. The teams are Killer Bees, Computer Center Cretins, and Beta Chi. Leading the field last week was Doris Hughes who rolled a 177. She only has a 130 average. Pat btphy also had a good game, rolling a 150 and a 160. Pat has a 116 average with a 424 total. Both ladies belong to the Faculty and Staff. Bob Braun had a high game of 228 for Beta-Chi. The tropohy winners for the last semester in intra mural bowling were the Pink Panthers who finished first. the Panthers consist of: Ed Krutulski, John Lopata, Jeff Webster, Gerry Kapes, and Steve btterson.
