The intermural softball season gets underway this week with the frateinity being represented by a talent-loaded team captained by myself and co-captained by Joe Horochak. Our expecta tions for the season are quite high and hopefully we will be in the thick of things come playoff time. There will be plenty of beer and hoagies supplied on the bus at no expense to the fraternity members. The hoagies were so good the last few years that at least a hundred of them were seen up and down Broad Street on the pavement. There will be a $5 dollar deposit required, but when you arrive at the stadium it will be refunded to you. The Spring Concert is right around the corner so I want everyone to be thinking about helping out in some capacity so that everyone gets a chance to enjoy the concert. Lock ers are available for use on a day to day basis. (No permanent assignments), and towels are not available for issue at this time. Handball courts can be reserved for periods of 1 hour by calling 787-7751, or stopping by the Rec/Ath office. The building will be open Monday through Friday from 8:00 A.M. to 9:30 P.M.; Saturday & Sunday from 1:00 P.M. to 9:30 P.M.. No handball courts will be reserved after 8:00 P.M.. Baseball The next home game for the baseball team will be a doubleheader scheduled for Saturday, April 16 at 1:00 P.M. with Juniata College (Weather permitting!). All home games are played at the Little Hollywood Field. Soccer If you are interested in the game of soccer, the Campus team is presently getting organized for several scrim mage games for the spring season. This will help keep them in shape for the fall season. There are 12 games scheduled to date for the fall, with the possibility of a few more being added. Varsity Basketball Important Meeting Anyone interested in trying out for the varsity basketball team for the 1977-78 season, there will be a meeting on Wednesday, April 20, at 4:00 P.M. in the Rec/Ath office located in the new building. All interested persons are urged to attend. If you enjoy the game of tennis, there is a home match scheduled for today, April 14,, at 3:30 P.M. with Schuylkill Campus on the Campus tennis courts. The next home match will be Wednesday, April 20, at 3:00 P.M. with Mont Alto Campus. The IM Softball league is into their spring season with games beginning this week. A total of 17 teams are registered, with some games being played under the lights. Team stand ings will be published at a later date. The league is divided into 2 divisions, National and American.
