The ball incorporated several military traditions like a saber arch, toasts, and a color guard. The Master of Ceremonies was the detachment commander Cadet Major Craig Paske. Attire for the evening was formal with the ladies wearing long dresses and the men wearing Dress Blues, Dress Greens, or tuxedos. A wonderful time was had by all. Dinner consisted of five courses, starting with shrimp cocktail and ending with chocolate mousse. The food seemed to flow continuously for an hour and a half. Everyone had a positive comment on the amount of food served. The guest speaker was Lieutenant Colonel Clayton R. Newell from the Army War College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Colonel Newell's address was on the Profession of Arms. Other guests included members of the 112th Pennsylvania National guard, the Retired Officers Association, the Reserve Officers Association, 11th Special forces Group, 4/92nd Field Artillery, the Marine Corps Reserve, and other students and faculty from Behrend. Music for the evening was provided by a local DJ. who played a great mixture of fast and slow songs.
