The Cubs slammed the Alliance team, a whopping 5-1. • Behrend bettered its soccer slate to 4-2, with four go - als in the second half, breaking a half-time score of 1-1. The Cubs outshot the Eagles 29-2, just over the last 45 minutes of play. thir brilliant playing dropped Alliance to a 0-5- 1 mark on the Soccer slates. Joe Fornear playing acoustic guitar, Mike Harford playing acoustic guitar and banjo, Steve Long playing electric guitar and Tim Lent on acoustic guitar and harmonica. The band otherwise known -as "The Elastic Waste Band" performed en thusiastically featuring selec tions from such artists as Mar shall Tucker Band, Neil Young, Pure Prarie League, America, and The Band. They also en tertained with a joke session in which the audience involvement was tremendous. The band ended their session with the song "Will The Circle Be Unbroken" which the audience readily par ticipated. "I've never seen such a fired up audience at a Coffee House before", commented photo grapher Bill Bergman. The Elastic Waste Band would like to thank Tina Marino, Jay. DiFrank, the S.U.B. and a very special thanks- to the -audience. What's In Sports! Bell, putting in two, Mike Olive, Chris Conway and Frank Pollack. Pete Derwin was the lone scorer for the Eagles. In further action, Pitt- Johnstown came out ahead in Saturday's game with the Cubs. The Mountain Cats barely pin ched the Cubs 2-1, playing in 48 degree weather and a mud swamped field. Ed Bell started things off with the only Cub goal at 1:17, assisted by Tony Orlando. Joe Klimowicz then tied the game at 23:58 minutes. The deciding goal was kicked by Dave Hawkins 24 minutes into the second half of this close match. This gave the Cubs their third loss in seven played games. Bebrend takes on Slippery Rock State College on their field this Saturday at 2:00. MEM MIME Behrend Volleyball! The Behrend Volleyballers now sport a 6-3 record, after the action this week brought them a series of wins and losses. Last Tuesday, the Cubs dominated all as they spiked two teams. In the first game, they ran over Lakeland Community College 16-4 and 15-6. Then they took on Thiel College and in a closely played matched, edged Thiel by scores of 15-13 and 15-13. These wins raised our slate to 5-1. In another doubleheader on Thursday, the action brought on a split decision. Behrend bounced back in the second game to take care of Villa, 15-3 and 15-7, and to set their slate at 6-2. In Saturday's action, Behrend took on Grove City, only - to add another defeat to their record. The Grovers defeated the Cubs in a 5-game set, 15-3. 15-4, and 15-10, forming our record into the 6-3 mark we currently stand at. Our next matches are the Gannon Knights on Friday and with Westminster the following Tuesday. HT.
