He has performed in live concerts in theatres, nightclubs, universities and on television. Have you ever heard of anything being “Kreskinized?” Well, the verb “Kreskinize” means to dramatically introduce an idea into someone’s thought pattern. It also means to perceive someone pursuing thoughts or It Seems Wanner In The Hay by Tim Kenney Collegian Staff Writer It wasn’t exactly a balmy night. The temperature was near 40 degrees with a gusty wind that sent a chill through the air. Leaves were blowing around and there wasn’t a cloud in the sky. It was near perfect weather for a hayride. Outside the RUB lot, there were nearly 80 people anxiously awaiting the arrival of the tractor and hay. When it finally came, the mob had to be divided into two groups. I went with the second group, which boarded the hay wagon at 10:00. As we went down the road, people started singing songs and telling jokes. Some just thought of where to eat afterwards. When we got to the campgrounds, the bonfire was already a blaze. We rushed to its much welcomed heat where we were greeted by people from the first group with cider and marsh mallows. After getting my Bromberg Hits Allegheny by Deirdre McCauley Collegian Staff Writer On October 8, David Bromberg band, tight and full of life, ap peared at Allegheny College. There was a current of electric excitement flowing through each member of the band, resulting in an evening of fine folk and jazz music and good feeling. The band consists of two fiddlers, a drummer, base player, rhythm guitarist, and two in strumentalists who switched off and on from sax, trombones, trumpet, flute, and clarinet. Series introduce an idea into their thought processes by natural and scientific means. This is what Kreskin is about; he “Kreskinizes” people. He calls his skills “an ability to sensitize myself to the attitudes and reactions of people around me.” Kreskin is a renowned author of “The Amazing World of Kreskin.” He has his own Kreskin’s ESP Game (Milton- Bradley). He works with dentists, physicians and acts as a con sultant to a clinical psychologist. He dislikes professed psychics, mind readers, mediums and charlatans who attempt to guide people’s lives. So, come see what “Kreskinizing” is all about. It’s been said that it’s a feeling one never forgets. shoes drenched from wandering around trying to find a long, thin stick, I finally settled on a log. (No, I am not a toad). After roasting my mallows to the point of being charcoal, and drinking enough cider to drown a fish, the fire was put out and we all boarded the wagon again. We rode for nearly 45 minutes around the countryside. During the course of that ride, a few Christmas carols were sung out. (Wrong date, but it was cold enough!) I knew I felt the cold because the zipper on my jacket kept splitting, which made it difficult to keep warm. Well, the evening came to an end around midnight. Some of us went home and some stayed and talked with their friends and otherwise. It was super to see how so many people from so many different areas of the state got along so well. Hats off the the SUB. Hope they create more fun times ,in the future. excellent show. He played the fiddle, acoustic, and electric guitar. Two of his best numbers were rollicking, hard-hitting and high energy “Judge Send Me To the ‘Lectric Chair” and “I’ll Be Your Lover, Your Friend, But I Won’t Be Your Fool.” The latter is a Bromberg original, full of spite and cynicism about women who ‘done the wrong.’ If you’ve never seen David Bromberg, you’re missing one of the best performers around. He plays fine music, he sings fine songs and he makes you feel good. What more can you ask for? Oct. 21 Car Wash, RUB Lot, ABS Oct. 25 Film: “As You Lake It”, RUB Lecture Hall, 8 p.m., Arts* Hum.
