ADAM FRACASSI managing t.ditor SGA has finished ap pointing the new mem bers to the Supreme Court. The court con sists of five members that were all nominated by the president of SGA. The court has many different functions across campus, but mainly works with stu dent organizations and deals with any griev ances filed either against or on behalf of the SGA. According to their Constitution, the Supreme Court deals with any breaches of the SGA Constitution, or any rule or policy for the student constitutions or University policy. The main function of the Supreme Court is to pre side over appeals Behrend a 7,500 in TASHIMA MITCHELL staff writer It's huge, it's wide, will it work? Behrend's plans for the future are vast and seemingly end less. The administration has a goal of reaching 7,500 students within the next five years. Planning will be done with the help of the cur riculum task force members, the SGA Aca demic chair, the com mittee and a couple of students. They are going to take a look at Behrend strengths and weak nesses and also stu dent's needs and interests. "The plan is to get more students, and with that we need more pro grams in place," said the associate dean, Dr. Greek Week scores and results: brought after the SGA renders a decision. "If the SGA makes a decision on something like removing a club or removing a candidate from the ballot and the club or candidate wanted to appeal the de cision they would go to the Supreme Court for that appeal," said SGA President Steven Burger. Each side would then argue their cases in front of the Supreme Court which is made up of mainly non-SGA members making it an impartial organization. The five new justices are lead by Chief Justice Caleb Rodgers, and in clude Connor Sattely, Alternate Chair for the Supreme Court, Rachel Reeves, Michael Bilz, and Jason Golbieski, with each serving a one year term. to expand to xt 5 David Christiansen Some examples of the new programs could in clude kinesiology classes, digital media, game design and devel opment. Also, there are hopes to adding more education degree pro grams such as science, history, and English, which could be an addi tion to our math degree program. He is even considering elementary. "I am thinking about also having more online classes and having block schedules that allow students to take a course within a course," said Christiansen. There are currently 4,694 students enrolled in Behrend. In the past five years, enrollment has increased by 25 per cent. In the past five years, the Burke Center was created, new faculties, residential halls: such as Senat Hall, 550 new beds in University Gates and the nursing pro gram. Those who will see Behrend in five years might be shocked and pleasantly surprised, only time will tell just what Behrend has in store for its students, faculty and staff and the community at large.
