Augustin, who averaged 19.2 points and 5.8 assists as a sophomore, has not hired an agent. That leaves him the option to change his mind before die June 26 draft, though there is no apparent indication that he would do so. Abrams has also not hired an agent. NHL -While their seasons have come to an end, Ibews have something to smile about. OPT ■n Men’s lacrosse grab first NCLL title by Jessica Carlson sports editor jlcsolB@psu.edu The Penn State Behrend men’s lacrosse team clinched the 2008 NCLL Empire West Division Championship on Saturday, April 19, when they defeated Fredonia College 12-5 The lacrosse team is a club sport at Behrend and is part of the National Collegiate Lacrosse League (NCLL). Their season was short-lived, but busy, playing eight games in two weeks. Their first game was on Saturday, April 5, against Grove City where they lost by a score of 3-9. The fol lowing week the Blue and White had a hectic schedule, playing six games in two days. Beginning on Saturday, April 12, the men lost to John Carroll 2007-2008 Penn State Behrend Men’s Lacrosse Team 10-4, followed by a victory over Youngstown State by a score of 11 -4 On Sunday, April 13 the men played an exhausting four games. Their first game against Rochester Institute of Technology tal lied another on the victory list for Behrend as they defeated them in overtime 6-5. Wes Shaw, Andrew Heidt. Brad Alayon, Karl Hummel. Joey Williams. Louis Grenci. Mike Fairbank. and long stick mid fielder Sean McHugh all control the center of the field. Matt leraci, Justin Grumski. Jason Gledistch and Matt Grego all play defense, and goalie Jon Altman holds his ground in front of the net. Because the lacrosse team is a dub sport, the men have to come up with a lot of the fund ing for equipment and trans portation on their own. In order to keep everything under control they have a President. After key vic tories over division foes La Roche and Frostburg, Behrend clinched their sec ond AMCC title. Even with a title under their belt and with the last place team coming up on the schedule. Behrend would have to avoid a letdown in Hilbert. In a double-header in Buffalo. Behrend got the bats going early, leading to a 12-3 blowout. Rebounding off a huge loss to their divisional rivals. Hilbert has high hopes to turn it around in game two. Unfortunatly. Behrend had other plans for the friends up north. Thanks to superior pitching and big time hitting, Behrend, walked away with a 14-1 victory, making it a clean sweep against Hilbert.
