Dunbar) has been chosen as this week's Housing and Food Services Athlete of the Week. Rodgers-Owens had an outstanding week at the Westminster Invitational, winning two events and qualifying for the ECAC championships in both. Rodgers-Owens took first in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.67 seconds, qualifying her for the ECACs. She then won the 200-meter dash, crossing in 25.94 seconds and once again qualify ing for the championships. She was also part of the 4 x 100-meter relay team that took third. Rodgers-Owens currently holds the school record in the indoor 55- meter dash and is part of the 4 x 200-meter indoor relay record holding team. The Lions are now 9-5 in AMCC play. The Lions lost both games on Saturday to AMCC leaders La Roche at home. They lost the first game by a score of 5-1 after allowing four runs in the top of the fourth inning. The second game went to extra innings, where the Lions lost 5-3 on a two-run home run in the top of the eighth inning. Kaschauer says her team's overall talent is one of their biggest strengths. "On the field, we have a strong defense and our batting order is also strong from the first batter to the ninth batter." She also says her team's chemistry is another reason for their success "We maintain a family relationship within our team," Kaschauer said. "Every player on our team portrays a significant part to maintaining the success of our team." The Lions continue play with a doubleheader against Frostburg State on Saturday beginning at 1 pm. The team will then go to the AMCC tournament on Sunday. The AMCC tournament will con tinue the following weekend, May 4-6.
