This reporter asked Edward Mulfinger about the possibility of extermination during the summer intercession. Mr. Mulfinger replied that “All of the mice will leave building during the summer, so it would be pointless.” As for the ruined shirts Housing replied that it would be doubtful for any sort of compensation from Behrend. The students were told to report the damages through their Homeowner's insurance. “It stinks.” says Rob Dolak, 08 ME Behrend Greeks support Bowl-a-thon by Rose Forrest copy editor On the weekend of March 25-26, the Big Brother/Big Sister program of Erie held a Bowl-a-thon at the Rolling Meadow Lanes on Zuck to raise money for their foundation. WJET TV and Olive Garden helped sponsor this event which had a strong turnout. The Bowl-a-thon consisted of teams of bowlers who raised pledges individually. The minimum amount per person was $5O to enter, but bowlers were encouraged to find as many pledges as possible. The fund raiser was open to anyone and there was a mixture of company teams, like one from Hamot, and groups of friends who wanted to support the Erie 8.R.U.N.0.5. is not just a place to by Shannon Weber news editor The Behrend theatre group, Match box Players, is ready to present a mu sical satire on college life at Behrend. 8.R.U.N.0.5., written by Joe Getway and Dallas Skeens, explores the pos sible scenarios one may experience at college. Six upperclassmen (played by Erin Costello, Jessica Dows, Leo Hanley, John Hoderny, Stephanie Miller, and James Washburn) aid in educating two freshmen (played by Ryan Cannon and Bethany Cummings) in “normal operating pro cedures” at Behrend. There have been numerous reports about skunks around the apartments. The mice have also invaded the ground floor of Almy. There have been reports that the mice have already invaded Ohio Hall. Mr. Tony Elliot, advisor of Matchbox Players will direct 8.R.U.N.0.5. Dr. John Champagne is providing musi cal direction, as well as performing on stage and accompanying on piano. Why can’t Housing take action and fix this during the summer so the problem isn’t here again in the fall?” Mulfinger responded to this question saying, “It’s all because the wildlife is distorted because of the construction on Ohio Hall. Housing has made sure that traps were set in the attic space in Almy.” To which the students in room 403 have said, “We can still hear the mice run across the ceiling every night.” with Zeta Beta Tau (ZBT) to enter two teams as well. ASA Adan Huber,o4 Psych, reported, “I thought it was a spectacular way for our sororities to interact with the Big Brothers/Big Sisters program.” Altogether the eight ASTs and two ZBTs raised $620 for the Big Brother/ Big Sister program. The 15 AS As that participated gathered close to $ 1,000 altogether. The bowling alley was festive. Olive Garden provided free food for the bowlers and volunteers and a DJ roused the crowd with theme music. AST Erin Baker, 04 MIS, explained, “ It was a good cause and it was a lot of fun.” ASA Michelle Benjamin, 08 Mang/Fin, agreed, “I had a great time bowling with my sisters. I can’t wait to do it next year." companiment The music is based on popular Broadway shows such as Les Miserables, West Side Story, Oliver, and many more. Some ot the songs, such as “Be Our Guest” from Beauty and thfc Beast and “Tomorrow” from Annie , have been edited by Match box Players to tie into the story.
