This time I saw Life is Beautiful, co-written, di rected and starring the incredible Roberto Bcnigni as Guido Orefice. Life is a complex movie that takes place in Tuscany during the beginning of World Warll. The movie also stars Bcnigni’s wife Nicoletta Braschi, who plays his dream woman and wife. The film has a amazing performance by Giorgu Cantarini, who portrays Guido’s son Gisuc (Joshua). The movie starts out in a light hearted, if not zany tone, reminiscent of the early Gene Kelly, Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers musicals. Guido Orefice (Bcnigni) passes himself off Book review Vittorio the Vampire is horrible by Mike Frawley associate editor Anne Rice’s new novel Vittorio the Vampire leaves a lot to be desired. This novel, which is part of her new tales of the vampires, is such a departure from the rest of her vampire books, that diehard Rice fans will be left wondering what happened to their beloved heroes, and new readers will have trouble getting into this story. The basis of this book is to start the stories of a new group of vampires; separate from Rice’s other vampire scries. No longer will their be stories Ain - Ain - Ain - Ain - Ain - Ain - Ain G < Delta Sigma Pi G W < Didn’t like that last test grade? G 9 c <1 Buy a 50 cent chance to throw a pie. On sale from 10 —2 in front of Bruno’s XI '<! in - Ain - Ain - Ain - Ain - Ain - Ain with his brother as a traveling prince throughout the hills of Tuscany, when he keeps on bumping into his love Dora (Nicoletta Braschi). It has the makings of a typical love story: when Guido tries to romance Dora, a schoolteacher from a wealthy family, on his meager earnings as a waiter. Dora already has a fiancee, who is a bank executive and quite influential in the town, but she is truly smitten by Guido’s romantic ways The set that was used lor the fabu lous banquet hall that Guido works at is clearly reminiscent of the older movies of the 1930 s and 19405. The first indication that there is trouble from the Nazis in his town is when Guido and his son sees a sign reading, '‘No Jews or dogs allowed in store.” This is a very' ambitious and risky undertaking by Bcnigni. Not only did about Festal and his companion who captivated readers through Rice's seven previous vampiie novels. The brat prince of Rice's New Orleans coven has written his last story. Now maybe it was time to put the first set of vampires to rest, but her newest vampire, Vittoiio, leav es a lot be desired. In this novel, Vittorio docs not become a vampire until the very end of the novel. The story consists of his family being killed by vampires, his seduction by a female vampire, his guardian angels helping him to kill the vampires that destroyed his family, and finally the dark gilt being given Throw a pie at a professor! until April 2nd. Anne Rice’s Class he have 10 walk a tight line as if not to offend anyone about his use of the Holocaust as a backdrop, but it had to ol for some degree of realism so as not to be bizarre. This was definitely no t;ike off of a old Hogans Heroes episode. Although Life does not have the documentary feel of Schindler's List , but it was most effective. Roberto Benigni is truly a genius; this work is clearly a masterpiece. Fi nally at the Academy Awards a few weeks ago it was quite a thrill for me, one of Italian-American ancestry, to see Roberto Benigni be presented the award for best Foreign Film by the legendary Sophia Loren. 1 think this film will spark the interest of theU.S. audience to expand their viewing from works around the world and broaden the horizons both intellectu ally and spiritually. Viva Italia! to him by his vampire lover. While this may sound like an intciesting story line, the choppiness and inconsistency of the story makes it hard to follow. The story needs a much smoother development to keep the readers interest. I wanted to put this book down after reading the first iwo chapters, but I forced myself to continue reading, hoping that the story would improve. But to my great surprise it didn’t. I never thought that I would ever read a story by Anne Rice 1 did not like, but with her newest release I finally found one. Pledge > M a > M a > M > M
