Page 6 Letter Response to To Concerned, In a recent letter to the editor, Shiloh Baptist Church was viciously attacked. Mr. or Miss Concerned condemned an entire church for one group of the church’s actions. One thing you must understand is when you ask for a Christian group such as the Mime Troop, the invitation to Christ will go out. From my understanding, no one was forced to accept Christ. He was offered. Inviting the mime troop was just like inviting a preacher. As Christians, we all have “a duty” to fulfill on behalf of Christ. lam being told that because this was a dinner, a multi-cultural dinner at that, this action was inappropriate and distasteful on behalf of “Shiloh”. I think that in any setting, when people don’t know Christ and do not have a willingness to know Him, they will be offended. I think very little had to do with it being multi-cultural. If you are familiar with the Bible, it says that we as Christians have a job here on earth to do which is spreading the Word of God and winning souls for Christ. To fail to do this means that if someone we come across, whether it is an individual, group, or community, dies and goes to hell, their blood is on our hands when we stand before Christ. This is serious, and that’s how we take it. I was told that “this stuff’ did not belong on a college campus. That’s exactly where “this stuff’ belongs. A serious Christian does not entertain, but ministers. That’s what they did. Their mime is the way they carry the Gospel out into the world. Jesus did not come to SAVE the SAVED. There would be no purpose in that. He came for the UNSAVED. We don’t try to be stingy with God, there’s enough of Him to go around. What I mean by that is, Jesus is not to be confined to the Church but carried out into the world. As a member of Shiloh, I will say I Love my church. This attack was what let me know that what our mime troop did was all together right. Why? Because even Jesus was persecuted. So when we are persecuted for His sake, it means we should rejoice. So I say to your letter, “PRAISE THE LORD.” Also as I stated, lam a member of Shiloh but this letter is not on behalf on Shiloh - This is just one more victory for the LORD.
