News Empowerment Bill passed by Steven R. Landon Collegian Staff On Saturday, March 18 the Council of Commonwealth Student Governments passed the Empowerment Bill. The legislation establishes a system to mobilize students at all Penn State Campuses as a united group to influence and protest legislation cutting the University's State allocation and State and Federal cuts in student aid. Representing Behrend at the Council of Commonwealth Student Governments (CCSG) were Student Government Association President Samuel Epps and Commuter Council President Steven Landon. Epps said he was pleased with the meeting's results. March 17: A complaint of harassment by communications is under investigation after it was reported to Police and Safety by Erie County 911 that there were a seies of prank calls made from the campus to the 91 Looter. March 18: A male and female student were cited for underage drinking after a Police and Safety officer was summoned to Perry Hall by residence life staff. March 19: A complaint of harassment is under investigation after a student reported that an unknown man had chased her two children who were playing outside of the Engineering Lab Complex. The first resolution establishes offices of communication designed to interact with the Legislative Advocacy Network to deal with student concerns with legislative issues. The main focus of these offices will be funding for education and Penn State University. The second resolution endorses the implementation of an option to the university class registration process to allow students to receive voter registration materials while registering for classes. The resolution also states that CCSG will endeavor to compel the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania BECOME A PART ASSOCIATION BY RUNNING FOR: Thursday, March 23, 1995 to comply with the Motor Votor Legislation of 1995 which will allow students at all campuses to register in their home county from a universal registration form. The third resolution calls for the establishment of a campus administrator for a day program. This would allow students to see what actually goes into running the college from the administrative point of view. The fourth and final resolution makes the Coordinator and Vice- Coordinator of CCSG the official representatives of the Common wealth campuses to the Association of Big Ten Students (ABTS). The resolution also authorizes a bill of resolution to be presented at the Summer ABTS Conference creating a Big 10 Conference Votor Registration Drive to be centrally coordinated at Penn State. e Re ort
