Thursday, February 16,1995 Letters to the Editor Misrepresentation As the Head of the Division that sponsors the Feminist Scholars Speakers Series, I suppose I should be glad Dr. Cindy Patton’s speech was reported in the newspaper. As a person who attended the lecture, I am horrified to read a gross distortion of Dr. Patton’s talk. The misrepresentation is almost litigious. J. Henry states “Patton believes, ’the media doesn’t have a direct effect on the public,’ although the representation of teens and AIDS is highly aocepted by the readers.’’ In addition to the somewhat challenging logic of this i—am ilia* wag WKRSKT.
