Railroad Matters. Yesterday at 10 a. m. a coal dump of the train drawn by engine Ne. 841 wan wrecked at I'equea bridge, about four miles north of McL'all's Ferry, en the Columbia & Pert Deposit railroad. A broken axle of one of the trucks of the car caused tbe accident. Tbe Columbia wrecking ciew cleared away the debris in a short time after their arrival en the :cene. A passing train of the Columbia & Pert Deposit railroad this morning caused a team driven by Mr. D. O. Ilerr aud daugh ter, of Washington borough, te run away at Truscott's Heur mill, at the lower end of Columbia. A number of sales were effected, though tbeie is considerable tobacco yet unsold. The tobacco is te ba delivered in Lan caster te-day. The Biggest Meravlau Churches. The statistics of the American province of the Moravian church for 1882 show that by far the largest congregation in the country of this denomination is that at Bethlehem, Pa., which has 1,234 communicants of the whole number in tbe country, 0.228, an increase during the year of 231. Next te the Beth lehem congregation is that of Salem, N. C, which is an educational and literary centre of tbe church. Next following this come the Lititz church with 360 commu nicants and Lancaster with 325. An Kaster Story. " Kin Beyend the Sea " is the title of a very pretty Easter story which has run through several numbers of the Moravian. The initials "C. A. V. M.," appended te it, scarcely hide the identity of the writer, who is Mrs. E. K. Martin, of this city. Klectlen of Grand Ledge Officers. Drunks Sent Out, Alderman Barr sent two drunks te jail for 5 days each te-day. Sadden Death of Cemtearllie Banner. Francis F. Davie, cashier of the nation al bank of Chester Valley, died very suddenly en Tuesday evening. Through me aay ne was apparently in his usual health and strength, and made no com plaints of feeling unwell. After supper be took a walk, and, when about a square from home, he was strieken with apoplexy, brought home and died in a chair. The national bank of Chester Valley was started as a state bank in 1857, at which time Mr. Davis was elected cashier, and held the position until his death. He was 02 years old, and a prominent member e the Baptist church. He was well known heie among the bankers, and was a brother-in-law of Chas. E. Wentz.
