Three men last night entered a bouse on tho Welcott road two milos from hero occupied by Mrs. Olive Converse, a widow, and her brother, Lavrius Warner, and bound and gagged the two occupants They then severely beat them in order to make them reveal the wlfbrcabouts of $4,000, wbioh the robbers claimed was in the house. They took with them three bank books and a check for $550. Mrs. Converse and Mr. Warner then released themselves, but neither dared leave the house to notify the neighbors until daylight. The Melville Family Imbroglio. Philadelphia, Nov. 29. The writ of habeas corpus brought by Mrs. Henrietta Melville against her hus band, Chief Eugineer Melville, to determine the custody of their daughter, Maud, was dismissed this morning in Judge Thayer's court.
