In opening the business of a New Year we have the pleasure et looking back with the highest satisfaction ou that of the year which ispast. 1882-- There are several causes wideh have, con tributed te the exceptional success of our en deavors te gratify refined taste at moderate cost, and en u greatly increased scale. . 1882- We selected with the greatest eaic In Europe an immenc stock of choice goods which proved te be wltieut exception the best brought te this: country. 1882 l.y making our selections in peisen, giving exclusive orders in ample time, purchasing en an enormous .scale, and paying actual cash jer all we purchased, we seemed the advan tage of the very lowest prices. 1882 Thus we were enabled te salisly buyers uud grulHy them by marking our goed3 at a small advanccjen the low prices we paid ler them. 1882 We arc warranted In largely inci casing our business for 1882. We have made arrangements by which we shall be able te mark our goods at even closer prices than in 1831. We will have a larger stock, and our decorative goods will be even mere attractive than they havu been. With the continued increase et business there Is no increase tn the ratio or expense of carrying It en, but en the contrary, the great er business we de, the mere favorable prices we can make te buyers. -1882- As et old we send by express " en approval" such articles as may be desired by person who cannot In person visit us.
