LANCASTER DAILY 1K1EIXIGENCER, MONDAY, APRIL 4. 1881. iTancastcr I-ntclitgencer. "MONDAY EVENING, APBIL- 4. 1881. Tbe Lear. Mew Yerk Tobacco Market. If. S. Tobacco Journal. The market was listless and apathetic his week. These who have something te sell console themselves with the idea that all '79 stocks will yet be disposed of at higher figures, and these that want te buy are net exactly in a fever about purchas ing, owing te the quietness which prevails in the cigar manufacturing liue. The in terest of the market is centered upon the '80 crops, aud the opinions regarding the value of crops of particular states keeps en varying, like March or April weather. There is the assurance, however, that the country will net suffer for the want of low grades of tobacco from the '80 crop, though no one claims te have bought such. Fer the past several years Pennsylvania has succeeded in becoming a standard article. Its rcputatiefelias much te de with its sale. Se, therefore, no matter hew geed or bad the .ether '80 crops turn out, Pennsylvania win have the advantage as far as reputation gees. It is really te be wished that the investors in '80 Con necticut and state seed be repaid this time for their trouble and risk. Manufacturers of state seed have kept shy of last year's owing te the ruinous result of the '78 crop, which, though premising in every re spect when removed from the field, com pletely retted while sweating in the cases. Connecticut, possessing qualities no ether crop can beast of, has net retained its old standing in the market for the past few years, the yield net proving profitable te extensive manufacturers. Its only hope iu becoming a prosperous article te the last investors in it, lies with its yielding quality. If the '80 has such, then no fear need be entertained of its success in the market. The '80 Ohie and Wisconsin arc spoken of very favorably. At the prices they are being bought, little risk is taken. The sales of the p.tsl week sum up as fellows : Pennsylvania. Cr.p '70 : 000 cases; J( cases wrapiters, -10 cents; line running. 112 J cents; medium, 18 cents; low, 11 cents; fillers, 7 cents. Connecticut. Crep '7'.) : !00 eases, most ly wrappers, 512 cents. Business is fairly active, old leaf gradu ally moving into the hands of consumers. This is specially the case with Pennsylva nia, se much se that prices have stiffened. Seme dealers claim that it is difficult te procure the proper kind of old Pennsylva nia new which fill the requirements of manufacturers. The general report of this branch of the trade is encouraging for the future. GaniTs Repert. Sales of seed leaf tobacco, reported by J. S. This Brandy has steed the test for years, and has never failed, as far as our experience extends, and we therefore give it the preference overall ether Brandies nematterwith hew many jaw-breaking French titles itiey are branded. One-fourth of the money that is yearly thrown away en various Impotent dyspepsia specifics would sufllec te buy all the Brandy te cure any such case or ascs. In proof of the curative cowers et Reigart's Old Brandy, In cases of Dyspepsia, we can summon num bers of witnesses one case in particular we cite: A hard-working tarmer had been afflicted with an exhaustive Dyspepsia ler a number et years; his stomach would reject almost every vvu, u im num emulations con stantly ue appetite in fact, he was obliged te restrict his diet te crackers and stale bread, and as a beverage he used 3'cGrann's Reet Beer. He is a Methodist, and then, as new, S reached at times, and in his discourses often cciaimed earnestly against all kinds of streni; drink. When advised te try Reigart's Old Brandy, In his case, he looked up with astonishment, but after hearing et its weudertul effects in the cases of some of his near acquaintances, he at last consented te fellow our advice. He used the Brandy faithfully and stcadilv; the first bottle giving him an appetite, and belere the second was taken lie was a sound man.with a stomach capable of digesting anything which hejehese te eat. He still keeps it and uses a lit tle occasionally; ami since ne nas this niedi cine he has been of very little pecuniary bene' fit te the doctor. A Pkactisise Piitsiciaw. H. E. SLAYMAKER.
