"She's much imOroved
since last season."
--Coach Gallegos

Collegian 947
For the second time in three
weeks, the Athlete of the Week
is one of the women's tennis
team's super sophomores.
Jennifer Puerto, a third
semester accounting major, has
played near flawless tennis in the
last week as she has improved
her record to 9-5 in singles.
Puerto won two matches in
Behrend's Super Sport
Tournament this weekend. The
two victories landed the
sophomore out of Miami,
Florida on the All Tournament
Team.
"She's much improved since
last season," said tennis coach,
Dan Gallegos, "she's a more
mature player."
"Mentally more than
anything," said Puerto on her
improvement, "I enjoy it more."
Puerto commented on the
team, most of whom are here
from last year's first winning
season. "We've all grown
mentally. We can all enjoy it
more since we don't have
freshman jitters."
When Puerto isn't busy on the
court, she spends a good deal of
time in many activities. Puerto
is a member of Lambda Sigma,
Delta Sigma Pi business
fraternity, OLAS (secretary), and
the Accounting Club, in which
she is Vice-President
Coach Gallegos summed up
Puerto's play by saying, "A day
without Jennifer at practice is a
day without sunshine. She
brightens up the whole team."
