Decision ‘92 by Loretta Russ The Collegian Election day may not be until November 3rd but Behrend has planned special election year events to get students involved in the process, beginning early next week. Next Tuesday an open forum is scheduled to be held in Hall at 8 p.m. The forum, titled "Election '92," will feature Behrend students presenting the positions representing each of the three presidential candidates. A "moderator" will be present to limit the amount of time each topic is discussed and make sure guidelines are followed. The "debate" is to be presented in the same format in which the second presidential debate was held. Therefore, the audience will be encouraged to address the candidates with their own questions. To promote student voting turnout Behrend will sponser an "Election Shuttle," which will transport voters to the polling site at the Brooksidc Fire Department. The shuttle will run from 1 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election day. There will also be an Election Party the night of November 3rd. It will be held in the Wintergreen Cafe from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., the election returns will be viewed on a large screen T.V., and free refreshments will be available. All election events are sponsored by the Multi-Cultural Council, the Student Government Association, the Human Relations Programming Council and the Office of Student Activities/Union.
