they grow up and cope with the
violence and corruption around
them. We pause for their teenage
years and spend most of the film
with these characters in their late
teens.
The characters and their
actions are developed through
their family lives. Most of the
characters lack a strong parental
influence, but Tre Stiles rises
above them and learns what he
needs to know in life from his
father.

Top Ten Spring-Type Movies
10. Cflnnibal Women in the Avocado Jungle of
Death / Casablanca
These two films are both romantic dramas with action, adventure,
thrills and suspense. The first film, although not made for the
entire family, is definitely a soon-to-be video classic. The second
film, already a classic, is making a comeback on its 50th
anniversary.
9. The Little Mermaid
After viewing this animated love story, the chances for a romantic
situation are well above average. It's something to keep in your
8. Can't Buy Me Love
Patrick Dempsey stars in this film as a rich nerd who pays the
hottest girl in school to go out with him. What was once a job to
her turns into a way of life as she falls head-over-heels for the geek.
It's a mushy kind of film that will send the pocket-protector gang
down to the bank to make an immediate withdrawal.
7. Pretty Woman
Never before has a more believable movie been thrust upon the
audience of the world. A disgustingly filthy rich executive type
can't get a date so he picks up a hooker and they fall in love. This
movie is similar to Can't Buy Me Love, but the disgustingly filthy
rich executive type could afford to buy his love.
6. Point Break
Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze, both mega-talented, star in this
talc about surfing bank robbers and the FBI agent who is supposed
to catch them. Swayze loses the girl but gets to ride the waves, and
Reeves gets the girl but throws away his career as a government
agent Yeah sure!
5. 101 Datamations
The theme follows Disney's usual format one good woman, one
good man, one horrid woman and two great Dalmatians who trot
across England to save their fifteen puppies. The puppies are stolen
by two villians who are preparing to scalp them for the evil
Cruclla. Though the theme was typical, its a great love story; even
for big people.
4. When Harry Met Sally
This was a really great love story. They don't make 'em like this
anymore. It's witty, emotional, believable and the performances by
Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal are superb. They play characters
everyone can relate to and put them in situations we've all been in.
THIS is the kind of film you can rent on the first date with your
significant other.
3. About Last Night
Rob Lowe, Demi Moore, Jim Belushi, and Elizabeth Perkins star
in this movie about single life in Chicago. Lowe and Moore meet
in a singles bar and "do it" the first night they meet. The following
day, they deal with the stereo-typical guilt and emotions we're all
supposed to feel. The rest of the film is full of the ultimate in guy/
girl talk as the two try to sort out their feelings and let the romance
go its course.
2.9 H 2 Weeks
What can one say about this movie besides SEX. Mickey Rourke
and Kim Bassinger star in this film about SEX. If you want to see
this film, you're going to have to rent it more than once. The
couple times: SEX SEX SEX, after that, you may pick up on the
story and the plot.
1. Say Anything
This was such a great romantic film that mere words cannot
describe it, but since I can't draw a picture for you I guess I'll have
to try. It is a romantic comedy about... about...about an hour and a
half long. Just trust me and rent it. It made number one for some
