Melanie Dunn summed up a
disappointing week for the
women's hoop squad in one
sentence.
”i felt that we did all that we
could do, but the ball just
wouldn't fall through the hoop,"
said the starting sophomore
forward.
Despite an intensive effort by

the Lady Lions, they suffered
losses to Bethany College and
Geneva College this past week.
Both defeats were by two points.
Against Bethany on February
7th, the lady cagers were dropped
by a 6S-63 score.
Senior record-setter Michele
Madison was high-scorer with 17
points.
On Saturday night, the Lady
Lions took the hosting Lady
Golden Tornadoes down to the
wire. With a minute and a half
remaining in the contest,
sophomore forward Michele
Bcisler connected on both ends of
a one-and-one foul situation to
give the lady hoopsters a one
point advantage. The teams traded
baskets until Geneva regained the
lead at the foul line, going on top
by two. A last second shot
attempt fell short, and the Lady
Lions lost their second
consecutive two-point game.
Leading scorer for Bchrcnd
was Dunn with 18 points.
The Lady Lions have three
games remaining before the close
of the 'B9-90 season. Head Coach
- Melanie Dunn
sophomore forward
Jencphcr Banker remarked that
she expects to attain three more
wins in the final games, if the
Lady Lions play to their
potential. Banker's troops have
compiled eight wins against 14
losses this year, with seven of
the losses by five points or less.
As the season winds down,
Banker will have her eyes on her
younger players. She feel that the
experience these younger players
will get in the next few games
will allow them to enter next
season with confidence.
