An Agricultural Creed. According to the Canada " Farmer," the agriculturists of Canada met In con ventlon not long ago, and adopted for themselves the following creed: We believe In small farmi and thor ough cultivation. We believe that the soli loves to eat as well as the owner, and ought there fore to be well manured. We believe In going to the bottom of things, and therefore deep plowing and enough of it. All the better If it be a Bub-soil plow. We believe In large crops, which leave land better than they found H, making both the farm and farmer rich at once. We believe that every farm should own a good farmer. We believe that the fertilizer of any soil is a spirit of Industry, enterprise and intelligence; without these lime, gyp sum and guano, will be of little use. We believe in good fences, good farm houses, good orchards and good children enough to gather the fruit. We believe in a clean kitchen, a neat wife, a clean cupboard, a clean dairy and a clear conscience. We believe that to ask a man's advice is not stooping, but of much benefit. We believe that to keep a place for everything and everything in Its place saves many a step, and is pretty sure to lead to good tools and to keeping them in order. We believe that kindness to stock, like good shelter, is saving of fodder. We believe that it is a good thing to keep an eye on experiment and note all, good and bad. We believe that it i s a good rule to sell grain w-hen it is ready. Sheep In the Corn Fields. A correspondent of the Cincinnati Commercial says that he has found the corn fields excellent places for sheep. After the corn is laid by, the sheep may have a week's run there with great advantage. There U fresh grass along the fence rows, and perhaps weeds that will give variety. We have never had lambs do better than in the corn fields in the fall. We bring them out every night. In this way they do not break down the corn or have any place for rendezvous, where they injure the corn. The day is busily spent, and the field as well as the flock looks the better for the run. After the corn has eared we have turned the whole flock into the fleldB and been well pleased with the practice. The sheep eat millions of weeds' Beeds and very little or no corn. Should an ear be pulled off, which is very rare, every grain on that ear will be picked off and eaten by the sheep. We have large sheep, and find no trouble in the practice of turning them into the corn fields after roasting ears have well form ed. At that time pastures are generally the poorest and need rest. Changing the sheep to the corn fields will give the needed rest. Then the sheep can get the grains of the pasture before .the severe frosts injure the grass. After these frosts the sheep may find a fresh change in the corn fields. Sheep need frequent changes of range, and we who have no woods or waste lands on our farm can make a profitable change to the corn fields. A Wife's Rights. It is a great mistake for a husband to keep his wife in ignorance of his busl ness affairs. In ordinary families it is she who regulates the outgo, and she ought to know what is the income. Not long since I heard a young wife, just in the early experience of housekeeping say : " How shall I know whether we are living beyond our means i I can't get any idea of what we have to spend ; and, while I try to be very careful of course, I might spend less on my table if we were getting in debt." Surely she ought not to be blamed if the debt and credit accounts are not prosperous. A loving and anxious wife suffers untold imaginary fears, if she sees a tired or. perplexed expression on her husband's face, unless she is assured of the truest confidence between them and knows that no great concern of his is kept a secret from her. Set Back 42 Years. " I was troubled for many years with Kidney Complaint. Gravel, etc.; my blood became thin ; I was dull and in active; could hardly crawl about; was an old worn out man all over; could net nothing to help me, until I got Hop Bitters, and now lam a boy again. Mv blood and kidneys are all right, and I am as active as a man of SO, although I am 72, and I have no doubt it will do as well for others of my age. It is worth a triul.
