December 10, 1975 Letter to editor Last Wednesday 1 at- tended, along with several hundred other people, a banquet honoring not only a great teacher and coach, but truly a fine gentlemen---- Walt Price. This man has spent his ‘entire career trying to instill in his students the qualities of respect and discipline, which are seldom seen in most schools today. All teachers spend at least seven hours a day with their a Music by “Vv. This is probably more time than most parents spend with their children each day. Yet, these same teachers and coaches not only have to put up with the smallest com- plaints from parents when something goes wrong, but it seems now they have to buck the administration and CE -~ ° - Bieber eeietiidiediatiedditie d h ppeay ‘MEL & GERRY HEISTAND, PROPS. reclining seats 'T4 GREMLIN - Drei Bedi died didi oe hh ppg Be SE iii AMERICAN MOTORS RENAULT DEALER USED CARS ‘69 RENAULT, 4 drs., R10 '69 REBEL SST, 2dr., HT, bucket seats, auto, vinyl top, PS, PB, Like New "73 MATADOR, 4 dr. heater, auto., PS, PB, vinyl top, "75 PACER, 13,000 miles ‘TS GREMLIN, radio, heater, auto., PS, air conditioning, roof rack 350THER CARSTO CHOOSE FROM WISSLER MOTORS Route 230 West, 1/4 Mile West of Mount Joy PHONE 653-2091 iii hi sedan, radio, Beet ied i ee hE ppp aa the school board. I feel the people of this district who elect the board members, (who are suppos- ed to represent the people), deserve to hear an explana- tion from the president of the board as to why this man shauld feel he has to resign after he has done so much for the school and the students. You would think a teacher and coach of this caliber would be urged to stay at his job and encour- aged to continue his good work. But, in Donegal School District it seems you are criticized and blasphem- ed for work well done. Certainly, the fact that several hundred people ga- thered to honor Mr. Price, to show their appreciation for what he had done for so many years, should make some explanation neces- sary. One of my reasons for running for the office of school director this past November was to find out what went on behind the closed doors. Some people will say this letter is just sour grapes on my part since I lost the election, but if more people would be willing to get involved, maybe constructive action would be taking place at Donegal, instead of destruc- tive action. Instead of complaining among our- selves about some of the school directors, why not confront these members with our complaints about injustices, such as the one committed against Mr. Price. The longer we sit back and let things like this happen, the longer the glory seekers of the board will rule. SUSQUEHANNA BULLETIN — Page 17 COLUMBI FACTORY I hope all of those who were not fortunate enough to attend the banquet, will express to Mr. Price their sincere support in any future endeavor he chooses to pursue.
