Brooks uncorks one past frustrated Eagle linebackers.
Indians lose to Cocatico Eagles
Saturday afternoon star-
ted well for the Donegal
Indians, but things fell apart
just before halftime.
Donegal got on the
scoreboard first with a 42
vard touchdown drive.
Brooks scored with a quar-
terback sneak and Mohr
kicked an extra point.
There were 14 seconds
remaining in the first half
vhen Cocalico quarterback
Ken Schweitzer threw a long
bor: from his own 30 yard
itne. The pass connected
with Eagle end Pat Ross,
who carried the ball across
the goal line.
Donegal fumbled the kick-
off that opened the second
Soccer banquet
Bernie Thome, coach of
the Donegal H.S. Soccer
Team has announced that
the Lancaster-Lebanon Soc-
cer Banquet will be held
Thursday, November 20, at
7:00 p.m., at Donegal High
half. Eagle Bill Ott picked
up the loose football and
scored another goal.
The final score was
Donegal - 7, Cocalico - 21.

County Wives Social, Wed-
nesday, November Sth. The
social was held at the
Church of Christ Annex
building, Elizabethtown.
Invited to the event were
members of Jayceete
groups in Ephrata, Man-
heim, Mount Joy, New
Holland. and Elizabeth-
town.

Price resigns
DHS wrestling coach Walt
Price announced his resig-
nation as coach on Friday.
His job will be taken over by
Eugene Funk.
Mr. Price sent a letter of
explanation to parents of
varsity wrestlers on Mon-
day.
C team loses
league title

On Sunday, the 2nd, the
Donegal Braves ‘“‘C’’ team
tangled" with the Crimson
Tide of Columbia for the
Red Rose league title and
unfortunately came up on
the short end of a 6—0
score. The teams battled
evenly throughout most of
the game, but Columbia
managed to push over a
score late in the 4th quarter.
The boys had an outstand-
ing season, finishing with an
overall 9-1-1 slate while
yielding only 12 points for
the entire season.
Darrel Risberg, Bill Mil-
ler, Brian Carbaugh, Shawn
Maxwell and Tom Luca-
baugh handled the offensive
backfield duties. Mike
O’Donell, John Yohe, Scott
Hostetter, Joe Edgell, Gil-
bert Cornwell, Eric Brenner,
Gene Wagner, Bob Blevins,
Kevin Fantom, Mike Ott,
Jim Grady, George Rice,
Matt Kauffman, Tom Doh-
ner, Kelly Claar, Dean
Musser and Tony Wohlfiel
battled in the trenches in the
line, both offensively and
defensively.
Also, we can not forget
our little cheerleaders. Lisa
Ruhl, Crystal Kelly, Heath-
er Farmer, Stephanie Max-
well, Liz Edwards, Jill
McKain, Kim Funk, Dee
Zeller and Stephanie Math-
iot cheered long, loud and
well for their boys and are to
be commended for their
enthusiastic support.
All the boys and their
coaches wish to thank
everyone for the excellent
support given to them
throughout the season. The
A,B,C teams will now play
this Saturday, the 8th, at the
Dallastown Bicentennial
Bowl and we wish them well
in their last outing.
Liberace at
Herseypark
Supershowman, Liberace,
will appear at the Hershey-
park Arena, Sunday, No-
vember 9 for two shows at 3
p.m. and 8 p.m.
