Among his many other decorations are the Joint Services Commendation Medal and the Army Commendation Medal. As professor of military science for the past three years, Colonel Smith was responsible primarily for developing and managing the Army ROTC program at Gettysburg College. His many other career assign- ments included: Company Commander in Europe dur- ing World War II; Comman- der of the Inchon Water Port in Korea; Battalion Com- mander in Korea; and about eight years of duty with Headquarters, Department of the Army. Colonel Smith is a gradu- ate of Maytown High School and Dickinson College where he studied business administration. He earned his master’s degree in the Maytown, Pa. He and his wife, the former Frances Fackler of Florin, Pa., reside at 2030 Hollywood Parkway, York, Pa. W. MacLaren sub graduate Navy Fireman Apprentice William H. Maclaren, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl A. Weaver of Route 3, Man- heim, Pa., was graduated from the Basic Enlisted Course at the Naval Subma- rine School, Groton, Conn.
