St. Marks Church to Honor Education Workers On Christian Education Sunday, September 28, 1975, St. Mark’s United Methodist Church of Mount Joy will utilize a segment of the 10:15 a.m. Worship Hour to recognize the fine work being done by the superintendents, teachers, officers, and helpers of the church’s Christian Educa- tion Program. A special litany will be used for the occasion and appropriate music has been selected. The pastor’s sermon theme is “A Thirst for Know- ledge.” The Chancel Choir will sing. In the afternoon and evening there will be a special meeting of church officials and the new District Superintendent, the Rev. William Sharp of Lancaster. Following a Carry-in Supper at 5:30 p.m., Supt. Sharp will conduct the annual Charge Conference of the church beginning at 7:00 P.M. THE QUALITY OF CHRISTIAN LIFE The First Church of God in Landisville will be con- ducting a Spiritual Renewal Week, October 6—10. Each evening service begins at 7:30 p.m. with a hymn sing led by Mr. Cori Funk. Special musical selections by soloists or groups will be included every evening. Rev. James W. Reap- some, pastor of the Marietta Congregational Bible Church, will be presenting inspirational and challeng- ing messages in conjunction with the theme. Nursery service is avail- able. All interested persons are invited to attend. FLORIN CHURCH OF THE BRETHREN ACTIVITIES The Florin Church of the Brethren, 815 Bruce Ave., Mount Joy, will observe Rally Day and Homecoming this Sunday, September 28. In the Sunday School hour, beginning at 9 a.m. all classes will gather together in the Sanctuary for a “Warm-Up” service. The program will have many of the children taking part. Special recognition will be made of attendance-perfor- mance during the past year. Also certain of the children will be recognized in their promotion to an older class. The service will be under the direction of Harry Hershey, Jr., Sunday School Superintendent. Following the Morning Worship at 10 a.m.,when the Children’s Choir will share in the worship for the first time this fall, there will be a Congregational Family Meal in the Fellowship Hall at 11:15 .a.m. All families and guests of the congrega- tion will be invited to remain for this fellowship experi- ence. CHURCH COUNCIL Representatives from gj of the churches in the Mount Joy area are meeting op Monday evening, Septem- ber 29 at 7:30 p.m. in the Florin Church of the Breth- ren to nominate officers and committees for the Mount Joy Interchurch Council for the year 1976. Each church has been notified to have one repre- sentative at this important meeting to help prepare the slate and set up plans for the new year. The recommen- dations of the Monday night meeting will be brought to the Fall meeting of the Interchurch Council on Monday evening, November 3 at 7230 pm. in the Donegal Presbyterian Church.
