Shenk by Susan Back a st The Mount Joy Welcome Wagon Club began its new season with a dinner meet- ing held Wednesday, Sep- tember 17 at the Mount Joy Legion. The speaker for the evening was Mr. John Shenk, teacher at McCaskey High School and a hypno- tist. Mr. Shenk managed to successfully hypnotise four of our members who all proved to be very ‘‘interest- ing’’ subjects! Membership co-chair- man, Linda Rice introduced seven guests and each gave a resume of herself and. her family. Joanne Frey, historian, presented the club with the 75-76 Sponsor Board which was made to coincide with the Bicentennial Theme. Diann Smith, Ways & Means chairman has a lot planned for the coming year and one way of helping the community is her planned visit to the Schocks Home in Mount Joy to provide services and crafts for its residents. Our Christmas Bazaar which will be held in the Gimbel’s Mall at Park City, November 1S from 10 a.m. till we’re sold out, is soon going to be here. Ruth Moore, chairman is asking that everyone donate one craft item and one baked good. She would appreciate having the craft items by our October 15 meeting. Also any paper bags you could bring would be appreciated. Craft classes for the bazaar will be held at the following homes: Sharon Roberts, Monday evening, Septem- ber 29 at 8 p.m., Judy Miller's, Wednesday, Octo- ber 1 from 1 to 3 p.m. and Ruth Moore’s, Wednesday, October 6 from 1 to 3 p.m. We're hoping to make this a big success so let’s all pitch in! Crafts will meet Thurs- day, September 25 at 8 p.m. at Judy Miller’s, Scott | Avenue, Crescent Brae de- velopment. Sea Shell pic- tures will be made. Bring a piece of stained wood, cardboard, glue and some ingenuity! The next board meeting will be held October 1 at 7:30 p.m. at the home of Faye Rintz.
