June 25, 1975 Pat Kenney III’s song i Patrick Kenney III, S532 Essex Street, Marietta, has written a song, ‘‘We Searched and Found That Star,”” which, after a test session, has been accepted by Major Label Records, to be included in a record album, Hit Sounds of Today. The album containing P. Kenney’s song will be issued around Christmas of this year. The record will be shipped to disc jockeys coast to coast radio stations, and record stores. There is a strong possibity that the album containing Kenney’s song will ‘‘break’’ in the Lancaster area. Kenney, a talented musician Patric Kenney III wrote the song last fall. He plays the organ, clarinet, and saxophone, and has been accepted in the Done- gal High School Band. This past year Kenney played first clarinet, second chair in the Beahm Junior High School Band. He plays the carillon bells at English Presbyterian Church, Marietta where he was formerly a member of the youth choir, and also sings in the choir at -Fairview A.M.E. Church in Marietta. He has been on the honor roll, student council, and won first prize in the science contest at Beahm. Favorite FM stations: Q106 and Starview. “Country music,” how- ever, says Kenney, ‘‘makes me sick to my stomach.”’ LOCAL MEN RETURN FROM WASHINGTON CONFERENCE United Steelworkers Local 5149 from Colonial Metals Co. sent five delegates. to the annual District 7 Wash- ington Legislative Confer- ence from June 15-18, 1975. The local delegates were: Charles A. Andrews, Michael D. Lippold, Michael J. Leschke, Filbert K. Culp, and Barry G. Gerfin. These men along with other delegates spoke to Senators Scott and Schwei- ker about: more jobs for Americans, the Energy Cri- sis, and ways to solve the problem and about OSHA. The delegate was unable to see Cong. Edwin Eshle- men, but they did talk to two of his aides at length about the following problems and how they affect the working men and women: National Health Insurance, more funding of OSHA, Work- men’s and Unemployment Compensation, and Envi- ronmental Programs. Market St., Marietta, has been invited to attend the camp of the Philadelphia Little Flyers Hockey Team, for the week of July 13th.
