975 nd he ns May 21, 1975 Legion gives James B Heilig, chair- man of the Americanism committee of WwW. S. Ebersole Post 185, Mount Joy, Department of Penn- sylvania, American Legion, presented a Bicentennial ‘Bennington’ flag to the Washington School In Mount Joy last Friday morning. The flag was accepted for the school by Ragnar F. Hallgren, Jr., Superintendant of the Done- gal School District. The historic ‘Benning- ton’ flag was previously presented to all the other six schools in the Donegal District. The flags will fly outdoors throughout the Bicentennial 1975-76. The Ebersole Post has supplied flags for all the classrooms in the district, contributing a whole new set celebration flags to schools when the flag acquired S0 stars with addition of Alaska and Hawaii as states. The local Legion has also provi- ded the large flag and its automatic spotlighting in the Donegal High gymnasi- um, as well as spotlights for the outdoor flags at schools. The flag and spotlight for it atop the borough building in Mount Joy are the gift of the Legion.
