The pin was awarded at the 1975 Annual * with the Employees Banquet, held at Historic Strasburg Strasburg, on Other Mount Joy residents receiving pins were: Edna Kepple for 45 years service; Marie Wolgemuth for 30 years service; Edward K. Brown, Franklin R. Eichler, and Lloyd E. Shank for 25 years service; Marian A. Forry, Paul R. Gingrich, and Carrie N. Grove for 20 years service; Margaret E. Mack- ison and Charles W. Booth, Mount Joy; Edna Wolgemuth, Mount Joy;Abram Heisey, Mount Joy; and Willis H. Ament, Washington Boro. Inn, } May 9. | Dragon Dojo The Dragon Dojo held its first formal promotion, Tuesday. May 6. Deb Kelly of Mount Joy and Dave Bailey of Manheim were awarded yellow and blue belts, respectively, after each had completed a one- hour physical test. Miss Kelly's test consisted of performing three Katas (a form of shadow boxing) and defenses against an attacker. As her final test, Miss Kelly, who is 5’ 4", had to freespar against 6 1’ David Gerber- ich, an instructor at DD. Dave Presto, Dave Bailey, and Deb Kelly awards belts Dale Bailey's test consist- ed of performing four Katas, defenses against an attacker, and free-sparring against brown belt William Reuter, also an instructor at DD. As a final test, Mr. Bailey had to free-spar against three op- ponents at once. Bailey had been training in the art for close to two years. The testing board consist- ed of three black belts:David Presto, chief instructor at DD, Cher Landis of Lancas- ter., and Roger Bradley, third degree black belt from Lancaster. Leib The Annual Donegal High School Band Camp will be held at Gettysburg College again this year during the week of August 18 - 23. Complete information will be sent home with students at the end of the month. Parents having any questions regarding band camp should contact Mr. Leib. Auditions for eighth grade students for next years high school band will be held during the next two weeks at the junior high school. Beahm Band concert Friday The general public is invited to attend the W.L Beahm Junior Concert Band Spring Concert at 7:30 P.M., Friday, May 16 in the Junior High auditorium. Come out and hear the 85 piece band play a concert with variety. The doors open at 7P.M. for Pop, Jazz, Heavy, Foriegn, and All That Stuff’. Small ensembles will also perform. Mt. Joy carnival The Mount Joy Jaycees will again be holding its annual Memorial Day Carni- val following the parade. Games, food. and entertain- ment are included, followed by fireworks sponsored by Community Council. A performance by the Donegal Stage Band will be a highlight of the evening. The carnival is held each year to assist the local Jaycees finance community service projects. Chairman for the event is James Sargen.
