    Steve Flick Completes Course
Steven R. Flick, Columbia,
R1 a central office repair-
man for the United
Telephone Company of
Pennsylvania, recently
completed a study course of
the function, operation,
testing and maintenance of
special telephone switching
equipment called the Series
100 Director.
Added to telephone ex-
changes, the equipment
solves switching and
trunking problems that
arise from telephone area
growth and expansion. It
also enables the telephone
company to provide modern
services such as U-Touch
pushbutton calling.
The course was conducted
in the training center of GTE
Automatic Electric, located
in Northlake, Illinois, a
Chicago suburb.
Flick has been with the
company for almost one
year. He is a graduate of
Donegal high school and
attended Pennsylvania State
university. He is married to
the former Carol A. Miller of
Emma, Pa., and is the son of
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Flick,
