Donald Plunkett, Shillington, Saturday, Oct. 26 at noon at Glossbrenner United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Clair Wagner Jr., officiating, assisted by the Rev. Vincent McEvoy of St. Anne’s Catholic Church. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of maracaine jersey in the empire style featuring a Watteau train. Mrs. Susan Ruggiero was matren of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Linda K. Reheard, sister of the bride; Mrs. Barbara Ruth, and Miss Marcia A. Plunkett, sister of the bridegroom. Junior bridesmaid was Miss Beth Harclerode. Flower girl was Miss Cheri Ann Reheard, niece of the bride, and ring bearer was Michael Reheard, nephew of the bride. Stephen D. A 1967 graduate of Hempfield high school, and a 1971 graduate of Albright college, the bride also at- tended Franklin and Mar- shall College. She is em- ployed as an administrative Systems Analyst for National Central Bank. The bridegroom is a 1967 graduate of Governor Mifflin high school, Shillington, and a 1971 graduate of Florida Atlantic University. He is employed as an international administrative assistant for National Central bank and served six years in the Pennsylvania Air National Guard. Farm Women no. 8 Name Officers Farm Women’s Society No. 8 met at Donegal Presbyterian Church, Saturday, Sept. 28. Anna Mae Eby, president, was in charge. Dottie Heisey led the group in singing several familiar songs and devotions were in charge of Miss Ruth Eby. Twenty seven members, one adult visitor and four children were present. Members responded to Roll Call by giving suggestions for next year’s programs. The minutes of the July 20th’\meeting were read by Sec. Miss Mary Grace Martin. Elizabeth Shuman, treasurer, gave her report. The Sunshine Committee reported that Minnie Kulp is now residing at Lehman’s Rest Home. Sylvia Warfel, Elizabeth Witmer and Belle Garber have all returned home after spending some time in the hospital. A note of thanks for remembrance was read from Belle Garber. The Ways and Means Committee reported that 42 persons went by bus to Atlantic City, Aug. 20th. A Gettysburg trip has been postponed. Grace Bixler was ap- pointed as president and Kathryn Heisey as vice- president for the next two years. Decision was made and voted upon to contribute $25 to the scholarship fund. Oct. 11 & 12 th. are the dates for the Flower Show at the Farm and Home Center. Oct. 23 is the sewing date for the General hospital, star- ting at 9 a.m. Contact Margaret Heisey if you wish to go. I would like to remind you that we have an ordinance that prohibits open burning. The borough again will follow its yearly practice of picking up all leaves that are placed at the curb. If individual property owners wish to bag the leaves they are welcomed to do so. ; There are times when citizens have problems they wish to discuss with borough council. I would like to refresh your memory about borough council meeting. Meetings are held the second Monday of each month at 7:30 p.m. offer, at the beginning of each month’s meeting, an opportunity for the public to bring forth any complaints for discussion. James A.
