Dennis Drager received the Jaycee of the Year Award. James Libhart, Dennis Drager and Robert Hoffines were given the Jaycee of the Quarter Awards. Hon. Edwin Eshleman was the speaker. The next paper drive of the Boy Scouts will be May 11 starting at 8 a.m. Please put your papers on the porch or along the curb. Miss Josephine Beshler returned to St. Joseph’s Hospital. Miss Marie Harter is a patient in St. Joseph's Hospital since last Friday. The Illuminator Class of the Church of God will meet at Sweigart’s on Thursday evening at 8. Anniversary Sunday at the Church of God will be May 19. The speaker will be the Rev. Daihl and the Nye Family will present special music. Mrs. Kenneth Barnhart celebrated her birthday anniversary last Sunday. Mrs. Knisley celebrated hers on May 6. Mrs. May Gibble celebrated hers on May 1. The above church will have the Mother-Daughter Banquet on Friday evening at the Silver Springs’ Fire Hall. The semi-annual clothing drive for Church World Service is being sponsored by all churches May 19-26. Let us support it by bringing the clothing to the various churches. The annual American Legion and Auxiliary Awards Assembly was held at the W.I. Beahm School April 27. Medals and cer- tificates are presented to the boy and girl having high qualities of honor, courage, scholarship, leadership, service and Americanism. Pat Reedy presented the girl’s award to Rebecca Ruth and William Smith presented the boy’s award to Carl Gohn. Reservations for stands at the Flea Market are still being made. Celestial Choir To Sing Sunday The Celestial choir, composed of 23 boys and girls from grades three through six, will replace the Chancel choir of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church on Mother’s Day, May 12.
