The benefit auction is scheduled to be held between 6 and 9 p.m. Drew Hostetter Wins Scholarship Drew Hostetter has been awarded the Clyde SS. Shuman Scholarship at Bloomsburg college. The award was made at the college’s Awards Con- vocation, held Sunday, April 28, at Haas auditorium. The scholarship is given to an outstanding freshman, sophomore, or junior athlete. The candidate must have a substantial 3 point average. He must be of good moral and ethical character, show emotional stability and in- dicate that he will be a reliable member of his chosen profession. Drew, a Donegal high school graduate, class of 1972, is now completing his sophomore year at Bloomsburg. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Hostetter. The initial project in the series was a great success and resulted in the D.C.A. making much headway toward its goal of installing portable refrigeration systems in the high school locker areas. Proceeds from this second movie will bring the goal even closer. The film will begin at 7:30 p.m. Admission will be $1.25 for adults, $.75 for students. Though they are not at liberty to release the title of the film at this time, the D.C.A. guarantees their top- flight entertainment at a minimal cost. Golden Wedding A surprise drop-in party was held by friends for Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Sprout, Maytown, in honor of their 50th wedding anniversary. One hundred twenty-three persons signed the guest book at the home of the Sprouts. The Sprouts were married April 16, 1924, in St. Mark's United Brethren Church Parsonage, Mount Joy, by the late Rev. C.S. Kieffer. They are still members of that congregation, which today is known as St. Marks United Methodist Church. They are also members of. the Golden Age Club of Maytown. Mr. Sprout was retired from Wyeth Laboratories in 1961. He is a member of the Marietta Beneficial Club. Mrs. Sprout is the former Bertha Miller of Mount Joy, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Herman Miller. Mr. Sprout is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Abram Sprout. They both enjoy gardening as a hobby. SPECIAL PROGRAM Mr. and Mrs. Norman Charles, returned missionaries from Brazil, will be the speakers for a service Sunday evening, May 12 at 7:30 p.m. at the West Green Tree Church of the Brethren.
