Mary Alice Heilman Wins Reserve
Championship At Science Fair
As in many other years, when the final
count was taken, Donegal high school again,
in 1974, has grabbed a huge share of honors
in the Lancaster County Science Fair.
This year, reserve championship honors
were won by Mary Alice Heilman, 15-year-
old junior, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl
Heilman, who did her project on a study of
ozone, a gas similar to oxygen which is
formed under magnetic condition.
Her reserve championship entitles her to
participate in the international Science
Fair, to be held at Notre Dame university at
South Bend, Ind., in May.
Mary Alice, who also is very interested in
art and is an accomplished violinist, joins a
long list of Donegal students who have won
high honors in Lancaster county and have
shown their scientific exhibits at the in-
physics.
